Battery Best Practices:

Your ReproScan ultrasound system is built to be simple, durable, and affordable — and that includes the powerful lithium-ion battery that keeps you scanning all day. To keep your battery healthy and your scanner working at peak performance, follow these quick battery care tips:

Charge Smart

Charge fully, then unplug. Once your battery hits 100%, unplug it from the wall. Leaving it plugged in for extended periods can create heat buildup and gradually shorten battery life. After a day of use, plug it in to charge overnight, ensuring that the light indicates that your machine is charging. Unplug the next morning when fully charged. If you are using the 2.0 monitor, turn off the “hard shut off” switch on the back of the monitor to ensure that the touchscreen does not have a slow drain on your monitor battery.

Avoid always staying at 100% — lithium-ion batteries prefer to rest between 20–80% for everyday use. Practically, this means you shouldn’t leave your machine plugged in all the time.

🔁 Avoid “Battery Memory” Problems

Use a full cycle now and then. Let your battery discharge fully to around 5–10% and then recharge it completely. This helps your battery management system recalibrate and report accurate charge levels — avoiding the dreaded “stuck at 70%” syndrome.

⚠️ Use Only the ReproScan Charger

Always use the charger that came with your ReproScan system. Third-party or other-brand chargers may seem convenient, but they can overload the mainboard and permanently damage your scanner.

🌡️ Storage & Heat Tips

Store your scanner and battery in cool, dry environments — excess heat is the enemy of battery life.

Don’t forget to check your battery health every now and then. We are starting to see some of the older models losing battery life. If your batteries are not lasting like they used to, give us a call.

A little care goes a long way. Following these simple battery practices will help extend your equipment’s lifespan and keep your ReproScan running smoothly through every season.
