Having an ultrasound has benefited both of my practices! In the original of the two locations it has given us the opportunity to expand our diagnostic options in the small animal side and enhance our large animal pregnancy examination techniques.

Late Season Pregnancy Checks

Late Season Pregnancy Checks
As ranchers find innovative ways to reduce winter feed costs such as bale grazing and corn stock grazing, the pregnancy testing season gets extended. Equine Reproductive Ultrasound-Considerations and Timing

Equine Reproductive Ultrasound-Considerations and Timing
Considerations: There are many ways to diagnose pregnancy in a mare, however ultrasound stands out as the most useful and versatile. While manual palpation can diagnose pregnancy and potentially twins, it can’t show a fetal heartrate or consistently diagnose placentitis. Only ultrasound can show fetal health, birth defects, placentitis, and allow for accurate fetal aging. It also allows for the monitoring of cervical tone, uterine edema, and follicular development while preparing to breed a mare.

Equipment Care - Off Season Care and Storage

Equipment Care - Off Season Care and Storage
Preg checking season has come to an end for many northern ReproScan customers. It is all too easy to put your ultrasound equipment into the backroom without a thought. However, to get the most out of your ultrasound and viewing devices, ReproScan recommends that you fully charge your ultrasound battery as well as your monitor batteries, then run for 3 hours.

Best Practices - Service Checks!

Best Practices - Service Checks!
ReproScan ultrasound units work in tough conditions every day. The equipment is exposed to dust and moisture; moisture in the form of condensation can creep into the unit without your knowledge. Please consider sending your ReproScan unit in for a service check to our service depot in Pennsylvania or Alberta.
